The project launches to a terrific success as
children from
Downbeach schools brainstorm to create the plan
that will create an incredible community playground.

CSURE (Community for
Safe Usage of Recreation Environments) is a non-profit organization
formed for the purpose of building a children’s inspired, custom
designed playground in Ventnor. It is the children and their
families that will take part in transforming the playground at
nearby
Somerset Avenue and Beach Park into a playground that will meet
all children’s needs and abilities. The entire project from design
to construction is a “grass roots” volunteer effort and will involve
our entire community.
Our Mission is
dedicated to creating a playground that conforms with ADA playground
standards and will meet all children’s needs and abilities.
Our Goals
are to encourage personal achievement and to promote physical
development for all children. This, in turn, will better integrate
special need kids with typically developing children through active
play.
As hundreds of communities from across
the country will testify, the benefits of community-built go
well beyond the enormous cost savings. The community-built
experience offers a rare opportunity for individuals to
collectively give something back to their community, resulting
in a beautifully crafted, unique expression of shared pride.
Most importantly, however, is the community enrichment resulting
from the volunteer-built experience. Community built
builds community.
CSURE.org chose this special project as our first
initiative because our future is our children and we waned to give
them the best and safest place to play. Thanks to all who helped in
this project and the future generations who will help to take care
of it. |
